Janice graduated from Humber College 2 year Equine Program in 1977, and has continuously worked in the horse industry since. She worked for 10 years in the racing industry, grooming and galloping race horses, prepping yearlings for the annual sale and working on various tracks in Canada and the US. In 1985, she received her Level 1 English Coach, followed up with her Level 1 Western in 1987 and has been coaching since. In 1988 she taught the Groom's program at New Liskeard College of Agricultural Technology. She has successfully shown in Eventing (to Preliminary), Dressage (to Medium 2, A Circuit), Reining, Trail, Horsemanship, Showmanship and Pleasure. Working as a freelance instructor, she has had students go on to success in Eventing, Dressage, Western, Polo, Team Penning and Coaching. Having studied with Mary Wanless (of England), she has developed a unique style of teaching, bringing along young horses and their riders, creating happy partnerships. She teaches a body based awareness of riding and a sympathetic approach to horsemanship. She is available to test OEF rider levels and judging small shows. She is also an honours graduate from the Shiatsu School of Canada (2200 hours) and is presently learning the Bowen Technique for horses.
